Our Ministries

We see the Kingdom of God as rooted in the words and works of Jesus. His love compels us to love all people, to bring hope and healing in His name, to seek justice and mercy, and to reflect His heart for the poor and broken-hearted. We are committed to making the Good News of the Kingdom tangible, understandable and accessible.

For us, church is so much more than just a Sunday service, and you should know that there is a perfect place for you here. Our goal is to provide a place for you to discover who it is that God created you to be, and allow Him to use you to bring His love and healing to Williamsburg and beyond.

Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is committed to the youth of our church as well as the youth of our community to help them become a part of the Kingdom of God, to reach their full potential and obtain every blessing God has intended for them.

Some of our activities include: Youth Music Ministry, Dance Ministry, Sunday school, KBS (Kids Bible Study), and Fellowships. We are entrusted to train our youth to become spiritual, productive Christians.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6, KJV).

Men's Fellowship Ministry

The Men's Fellowship Ministry meets the first Saturday of each month at 9:00 AM.

"Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend"(Proverbs 27:17, KJV).

Women's

Fellowship Ministry

The Women's Fellowship Ministry is open to all women of the church. This Ministry meets the third Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM. Intercessory prayer is each Sunday morning beginning at 8:00 AM.

The focus of the Women's Fellowship Ministry is to become women in service to Jesus Christ, dedicated to the commitment of studying and following his commandments, while making themselves available to meet the needs of others. The members of the Women's Fellowship Ministry grow in Christ to become everything God wants them to be. Women are seeking a covenant relationship with the Lord and each other.

Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come (Proverbs 31:25, KJV).

The J.O.Y. Fellowship

Ministry

The J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) Fellowship is a ministry for seniors dedicated to studying and understanding God's Holy Word. It is open to all Seniors, those who attend Mt. Pleasant or those who live in our community and are in need of the Word and fellowship.

Bible study begins at 10:30 AM on Tuesday and Thursday and ends at noon, followed by a delicious lunch prepared in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church kitchen and served to the Seniors in our fellowship hall. THIS RESUMES TUESDAY 9/8/2020

We extend an invitation to all seniors to join us as we draw nigh unto God through his word. Our motto is found in 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) which says: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of the truth."

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry plays an awesome and important role in the life of the believer and the worship experience. The Music Ministry's main purpose is to prepare our hearts to receive the Word of God by setting the atmosphere and inviting the presence of the Holy Spirit.. The Music Ministry also provides an opportunity for fellowship with other members of the body of Christ.

Our Music Ministry begins at 10:00 AM every Sunday morning.

Deacon's Ministry

Acts 6:1-3 defines the character and role of deacon. Deacons serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church, doing the benevolence work, visiting the sick, and being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation. This work frees the pastor to focus on prayers and ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the Gospel. Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church has deacons and deaconesses to assist the pastor and serve the congregation.

Missionary Ministry

Everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is a Missionary. We invite you to join us not only in worship, but in training to serve, and going out to share Jesus Christ with others.

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and the Holy Ghost" (Matthew 28:19, KJV).

Marriage Ministry

The goal of the Marriage Ministry is to foster the success of marriages, help couples build stronger marriages and to prevent relationships from suffering within the church thus fostering a stronger church body. This ministry assists and informs married couples about being all they can be in Christ.

"And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:23-24, KJV).

Usher Ministry

Ushering is a ministry to serve the Lord, not just passing out fans, bulletins and assisting with offering. Gods wants us to enjoy the way we serve Him and His people by becoming more like Him in the way we think and act. Ushers should be faithfully committed to attending Sunday school and Bible study. Anyone who has a heart to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and His people can be an usher.

"Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you" (1 Samuel 12:24, KJV).

Hospitality Ministry

The Hospitality Ministry is responsible for all areas of ministry requiring use of the church kitchen (includes, setup, serve, and clean up). The members of this ministry prepare refreshments for church socials and keep track of all supplies necessary for such events.

Intercessory Prayer

"I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth" (Isaiah 62:6-7, KJV)

Intercessory Prayer meets each Sunday morning at 8:00 AM to pray on behalf of the church and others.

An intercessor is one who builds the wall (or hedge) of protection while fighting or pleading for justice to prevail on behalf of others exercising the authority given by Jesus in Matthew 16:19.

Trustees

The Trustees are responsible for the physical assets of the church, including property maintenance, property procurement, and monetary assets.
